The following audio excerpts were taken from a presentation Jim gave to the First Baptist Church of Branford, FL on May 6-9, 2007. Each excerpt gives a "taste" of what that principle is all about. Complete copies of the Branford presentation are available on compact disc (CD). Please contact us for more information.

8 Principles of a God-Centered Church

  1. God may not duplicate a method.
  2. There is no permanent "there", here on Earth. So keep moving with God.
  3. God designed the church to do the work, not just the Pastors.
  4. Getting back to the biblical definition of fellowship.
  5. There are no volunteers in the church, only the called.
  6. God already has the plan, use His.
  7. The lost art of abiding: doing less, but accomplishing more.
  8. The remnant principle: recognizing where people are responding to God's spirit.

Pastor/Christian Ministry Leader,

Thank you for letting me have the time to introduce you to The Principles of a God-Centered Church. These principles have been developing from my pastoral experiences and studies over the last 20 years. In this day of churches trying the latest fad or program or method, God has burdened me with the fact that He does not want churches to seek a secret formula. He wants His people to seek Him. When we think we have found a formula, we stop abiding. This is why God has a specific plan for each local body of believers, so we will follow Him instead of a formula.

These Biblical principles can be presented to your church in a number of formats. The format I have found most effective is a 3-hour seminar designed to help your leadership understand and discuss the Biblical principles God uses to guide each church to find what His specific plan for them is. When these principles are followed and applied, the local body becomes the healthy, effective organism that God desires for it to be.

I have seen God glorify Himself by taking struggling churches, and healthy ones, and as they apply these principles, He does in their midst what only He can do! If you would like more information on The Principles of a God-Centered Church, or would like to schedule a seminar for your leadership, please contact me at jim@justapreacherministries.org.
